IMCA HSS Seminar: Anchored in safety comes to Amsterdam on Tuesday 2 - Wednesday 3 June, 2026.

Registration is now open for IMCA’s 2026 Health, Safety, and Security seminar, bringing together industry leaders, safety professionals, and operational experts to explore how we can strengthen safety culture across the offshore sector.

Across two days of presentations and discussion, the seminar will examine emerging safety challenges, regulatory developments, and practical strategies to help organisations move from reactive responses to a proactive culture of prevention and preparedness.

This seminar comes at a pivotal time for IMCA and the marine contracting industry as a whole. Serious injuries and fatalities continue to occur. At the same time, the security situation in the Middle East is affecting not only the assets of resource companies and the global economy more broadly, but also the health and wellbeing of seafarers and their families, friends and colleagues. Now is the time to come together and explore what we can do differently to manage critical risks effectively day to day, improve performance day to day, and ultimately keep our people safe and well, every day.

This seminar will:

  • Enable shared learning: Provide a structured space for members to share experiences, lessons learned and effective practices, applying insights directly or using them to validate current approaches.
  • Shape future workstreams: Identify and discuss topics suitable for future IMCA projects that can drive stepchanges in health, safety and security performance across the marine contracting industry.
  • Bring in global expertise: Bring international experts into the room to expose the industry to leadingedge thinking and practice from adjacent and advanced sectors.
  • Incorporate nextgeneration/alternative perspectives: Create space for emerging professionals, younger voices, and others to influence the dialogue and help shape the future of HSS in the industry.

This year’s seminar will centre on Serious Injuries and Fatalities (SIF), Psychological Safety and Mental Health, and Security, with the following crosscutting intentions:

  • Strengthen alignment on IMCAs HSS work ensuring members are clear on what support is available, what is expected, and where member feedback can meaningfully shape IMCA's direction.
  • Deepen understanding of preventing SIFsexploring industrywide developments, the current state of SIF thinking, and practical examples of how members are addressing SIF risks in realworld operations.
  • Advance psychological safety and mental health practicelooking at how organisations are improving wellbeing, resilience, safe dialogue, and trust; and where psychological safety and mental health interact.
  • Highlight evolving security threats including maritime security, spoofing/jamming, drone technologies and lessons emerging from recent geopolitical instability.
