Our Members are key to meeting society's ambitions for a Net Zero future. Supporting them to achieve this – safely and sustainably – is why IMCA exists.

With pressing global ambitions for as much as 750GW of Offshore Wind generation, it is vital that the lessons from more than 50 years of offshore delivery – whether technical, safety, or contractual – are not overlooked.

We have focused efforts on ensuring the content in our Technical Library reflect the needs of those working on offshore wind projects, while campaigning for a fairer contractual deal across the entire supply chain.

Sustainable contracts

Our campaign for sustainable offshore wind contracting has been a recent highlight.

We released a set of contracting principles at the start of 2023, following up with the launch of the industry’s first ever standard T&I contract for offshore wind projects in December.

Learning the lessons

With a proud 50-year history in offshore delivery, our Members' collective experience provides the bedrock for safer offshore operations and supporting the rapidly growing offshore wind sector is a key focus.

Recent areas of specific focus on offshore wind have included Walk-to-Work, subsea cable laying, lifting operations, and jack-up vessels.

Working in partnership

IMCA is working collaboratively across the globe. We recently brought contractors, developers and regulators together in the North East of the USA for an Emergency Response workshop, and followed up with a similar approach in markets in Asia-Pacific.

We have also established IMCA-approaches with a range of stakeholders working in floating offshore wind, ensuring our Guidance remains the standard practice as projects are rolled out.

Spreading the message

Whether our technical work, or our campaign for fairer contracts in offshore wind, we have been busy on the road bringing the industry together to explore partnerships and build consensus.

These have included prominent appearances at a range of conferences including Global Offshore Wind in London, Seawork, IPF, and Reuters Offshore Wind.
