IMCA Members should note the contents of the Association of Diving Contractor International (ADCI) Advisory Notice entitled, ADCI Surface-Supplied Diver Certifications (International Endorsement – IMCA Recognized).
The ADCI Notice makes it clear that:
- IMCA only recognises ADCI surface supplied diver certificates bearing the words “INTERNATIONAL ENDORSEMENT”. No other diver training certificates issued by ADCI are recognised by IMCA for offshore diving under the IMCA International Code of Practice for Offshore Diving (IMCA D014).
- Anyone presenting ADCI surface supplied diver certification that does not bear the words, “INTERNATIONAL ENDORSEMENT”, and claiming that such certification is recognised by IMCA, is making a false assertion and misrepresenting their qualifications.
- No ADCI “International Endorsement” diving certificates have yet been issued. Any such certificates will only be issued after 1 August 2018 following successful completion of assessments and top-ups for persons that reside within the United States by two US diver training establishments (approved for the purpose by the ADCI).
Any questions about the ADCI (IMCA recognised) INTERNATIONAL ENDORSEMENT certifications should be addressed to Ms Nancy Vu.
