Performing a safety critical role, they conduct audits and prepare inspection reports of diving equipment systems, and our programme will ensure that they are trained and accredited to a recognised industry standard.

Two categories of accreditation are available, with different requirements, for surface and saturation diving equipment.

IMCA ADSI certificates can be checked via our verification portal.

Candidate requirements

The IMCA ADSI certification programme requires candidates to:

  • be either a dive technician, an IMCA certified diving supervisor, a life support supervisor, or hold a technical degree with knowledge of offshore diving.
  • have completed either quality awareness training or certified as an accredited auditor.
  • have a good working knowledge of offshore diving operations.

Once accredited, inspectors are required to undergo revalidation over a three-yearly cycle, including submission of evidence of ongoing DESIGN audit experience.

We regularly host examinations around the world for our diving certification programmes. 

We offer a modern and user-friendly approach. Working closely with our examination partner TestReach, all our exams are taken using the latest online tools and are hosted in specialist invigilation centres.

Accredited Diving System Inspectors FAQs

Our goal is to introduce an industry recognised professional accreditation for an important group of skilled workers. As with our other diving certification programmes, it supports your career development and demonstrates your experience and expertise.

Several organisations run IMCA approved third-party preparatory courses for the Trainee ADSI.
